As an Entry-Level Behavior Technician, you are embarking on a rewarding career path to become a certified professional in the field of behavior analysis. This position is designed for compassionate, patient, and motivated individuals who are new to ABA. You will enter a comprehensive, paid training program where you will learn our progressive, play-based therapeutic methods from the ground up. Under the close mentorship of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), your role will be to learn and apply these techniques in one-on-one sessions with children, helping them build critical life skills in a joyful and supportive environment. This is an opportunity to grow into a skilled practitioner while being paid to learn and make a profound impact.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Build Genuine Relationships: Establish and nurture a strong, trusting rapport with clients and their families, creating a safe and positive therapeutic environment.
  • Implement Treatment Plans under Supervision: Learn to execute individualized, play-based ABA treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA, with a focus on following the child's lead and interests.
  • Foster Joyful Learning: Engage clients in fun, naturalistic, and meaningful activities that promote communication, social skills, and daily living skills.
  • Collect Data Accurately: Meticulously track client progress and behavioral data during sessions to support the clinical team's decision-making process.
  • Collaborate with Purpose: Work side-by-side with families, learning how to provide them with support, model strategies, and ensure they feel informed and involved in their child's progress.
  • Uphold Our Mission: Actively participate in team meetings and ongoing training, and embody the core values of Something to Say ABA—leading with integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to quality care.

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

Required:

 

  • No prior RBT certification or ABA experience required.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and a belief in a compassionate, child-centered approach.
  • Patience, creativity, empathy, and an enthusiastic demeanor.
  • A strong desire to learn and build a long-term career.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Experience in fields such as childcare, preschool, teaching, coaching, camp counseling, or caregiving for individuals with special needs.
  • Some college coursework in Psychology, Education, Communication Disorders, or a related field.

As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you are the cornerstone of our progressive ABA services. More than just an implementer of programs, you are a play partner, a source of encouragement, and a trusted figure in a child's life. You will work one-on-one with children, using your creativity and compassion to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities. Guided by our progressive, child-led philosophy, you will help clients build real-world skills in a joyful, supportive, and natural environment. This role is for someone who is not only skilled in ABA principles but is genuinely invested in the happiness, growth, and future of the children and families we serve.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to connect with children and collaborate effectively with parents and team members.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check.
  • A patient, creative, and enthusiastic demeanor.

 

Preferred:

 

  • 1+ years of experience implementing ABA therapy, particularly with play-based or Natural Environment Teaching (NET) methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
  • Interest in persuing a career in ABA therapy or similar fields.
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
